Who we are:
The Western Branch Orchestra Parents Association (“WBOPA”) is a non-profit organization made up of parent volunteers dedicated to promoting the orchestras in the Western Branch community of Chesapeake, Virginia. Schools currently a part of our booster are Jolliff Middle School and Western Branch High School. Our mission is to support and promote the orchestras, the directors, and our students through their musical journey.
What we do:
We raise funds for and provide support to the orchestra directors to help ensure continued success and growth of the orchestra program and to enhance our students’ musical education and appreciation of the arts.
Over the past years, we have held annual Fall and Spring flower sales as well as raffles during school concerts.
Through our efforts, we offer scholarships and ensure our students have high quality instruments and necessary resources. We also help our students enjoy off-campus performance opportunities and exposure to professional musicians.
Our monthly board meeting is held the second Thursday of each month at 7pm during the school year. We welcome your participation and encourage you to attend our monthly meetings. Please email our President, Caroline Piland, for Zoom details. The WBOPA would love for you to join us!
